CENTRAL AMERICA
I find my inspiration in ever more remote places populated by ritual-bound people whose architectural color springs organically from their culture, geography and faith. I consider my photographs documentary. The colors, subjects and details are captured exactly as found using a traditional camera and film. My Mesoamerican images are printed as dye destruction process (Ilfochrome) photographs using wet darkroom techniques.
In 1997 Abbeville Press, New York published my images from Mexico and Central America as Maya Color: the Painted Villages of Mesoamerica.
I continue to return regularly to this region as I know it holds many treasures yet be discovered.
